candle facts

What is the difference between all of the waxes used to make candles?

  • soy wax is made from soybeans and is therefore natural and renewable. We use pure soy in our container candles as a base for our custom clean fragrance blends.

  • paraffin wax is a by-product of petroleum, we use paraffin to make strong taper, pillar and votive candles with vivid colors and our custom vibrant fragrances

How do I get the longest burn out of my candles?

  • trim wicks to 1/4” before each burn

  • clear any wick trimmings or other debris out of the wax pool

  • when burning a container candle for the first time, let the candle burn long enough for the wax to melt to the edges of the container before extinguishing, to reduce the chance of the wax tunneling as you burn your candle

  • burn candles for 3-4 hours per burn and let wax cool between burns

What should I do if my candle tunnels down the middle?

  • when burning a container candle for the first time, let the candle burn long enough for the wax to melt to the edges of the container before extinguishing, to reduce the chance of the wax tunneling as you burn your candle.

  • if your candle has tunneled, you can try to gently and slowly scrape the wax that is on the side of the candle out of the container and/or into the wax pool, being careful to not drown the wick with too much extra wax

Scent pairings... how do we make our scent blends?

  • we start with clean scents free from phalates, sulfates and parabens

  • we use several different fragrance sources to find the truest quality scents

  • We mix, blend, burn and try again to achieve our best balanced scents

  • Most of our scent blends have been blended to re-create our favorite scents, and those of our family and friends, throughout our lives - each scent has a story.

What are clean fragrances?

  • Fragrances are made in a variety of ways and some can contain substances that may not be healthy to breath while burning. Our fragrances are sourced to be free from phalates, sulfates and parabens.
